Students need to be able to say the verses in 1 of 2 ways. Either by hearing the underline portion and then they must provide the rest of the verse and its address, or by hearing the address and then they must provide the entire verse.
Try these game at home with your child:
Verse Toss
Grab a ball or something easy to toss back and forth. Then toss the ball back and forth with your child saying the next word in the verse each time the ball is caught. After saying the verse a few times together, alternate saying words. Change the pace of the tosses, and go again. This game is more fun with more players so involve the whole family and before long everyone will know the Bible verse including your child.
Disappearing Verse
Use either a dry erase or chalk board / or any surface that you can write on and then erase. Write the entire verse on the write on surface and read over it with your child. Then read over it with your child. Erase a few words from the verse and see if your child can tell it back to you with filling in the missing words. Continue until all words and reference is gone. For a greater challenge (especially if you have already worked on the verse a few times), erase a large section at a time, or erase all the key words in the verse leaving only conjunctions, (and, but, or) and definite/ indefinite articles (the, a, an).
